You tap here, the heart, for art to happen. And then there's the breath, which almost goes without saying.

Art is not a debate, anymore than living is. You live, you have an artistic soul. Whether you use it or not is of your own choosing.

Look around and see how many artists are able to be something other than what they are being. Now look around and see how many people are being what they want to be.

Now draw a line, and another, and another, and another, now color in that space you have created. What color did you choose and how long did it take you to decide the color. If it came quick, like lightening, then good. If it took you a bit, or even a long time, then there is breathing work to do and studio time to be had.

Throw open the door to the studio, the one inside you, and open the windows for the fresh air to fill your lungs. Get some outside air, mix it with the inside air, and share what comes of it.

You tap on the heart to find your art. So many people, too many people, have had someone else's finger thump their chest, their heart, and told them what it is to be done. Those are where the deadends are.

Art is a passage, a journey, an adventure. Draw a line the next time you feel put upon by a finger poking you in the chest, instead, take a breath, and head to your inner studio and see what you can create with all that is happening.
