What a Day

July 20

Slowly. That's how this particular day started. Slowly the grey cloud slid across the overcast sky. Slowly our eyes opened into a Sunday morning, our faces, the ceiling, the window, our eyes looked out at the day.

The light was an even light grey-blue, a hint of blue, a promise that there might be a spot of blue later on. The sun was on vacation, lit out for a planet drive-through to pick up a super milky-way triple-dip scoop of star-sprinkled nebula, or so we thought.

Homemade Eggs Bennie for breakfast, hot coffee, and grits. Eclectic. And we are. Eccentric, too, proudly so. And creative, which is part and parcel with the neighborhood of how we live.

Slowly this has dawned on us, that the world can be cloudy, but we don't have to be enclosed in its clouds.

What a bright day this has turned out to be.
