Art Lights the Way

January 7

Art lights the way for many people. There is a long history of art lighting the way, so much so, that it has been taken from countries as spoils of victory. Yet many times it is valued as so little in day to day living.

How can something mean so much and so little at the same time?

The answer is in the breath. If you breathe in a world that connects to the resonance and ability that art can be more than a surface object, then you have the breath within you to heal, not only yourself, but others as well. If you breathe in a world that art is object only, with no substance beyond the surface, then you are object yourself, with only a visual acuity of checking off objects as either there or not.

Art lights the way, has lit the way throughout the history of written, and beyond, into the time of ancient language.

Today our muse is at the doorway of our studio, the inner door is wide open and we are lighting the way for our son, Daniel, to re-emerge in his recovery. We add to his healing, because we know the healing power of color, line, shape, and texture. We know it reaches across distance, time, and space.

Just as we know the art that travels through us came from great longing, great desire, great need, it has a greatness within it. Traveling from its Source to us, a fulfillment in relationship, we know the distance it had to travel to be where we are with it, not as object, but as a living, breathing energy of light. It lights our way every because we ask it to. It is in the asking.

Hope this day finds you lit from the inside out, and that you share that enthusiasm with those you meet.

Talk about studio doorways and inner doorways...many have opened today and they are living art of moving obstacles out of our way! Thank you for this commitment to keep all the art doors open!
