Snow Day Art

November 3

When you get a snow day, art is right there by your side, like a young child all excited that you'll be able do something.

That's the one thing about art that is pretty consistent, the excitement of creating. When you're excited, art is excited.

The amount of color available intensifies as the light increases, with all the snow on the ground.

It is amazing how many people are happy to see it snow, and how many people are not happy to see it snow. But of the people, mostly they are not children type people.

The advantage of being an artist is that you are constantly aware of your surroundings, just not in the same way as a lot of people.

Light.

Light gets your attention, but then so does the dark. Snow is so light, in color, that you can't help but be pleased by its presence, unless you are shoveling at the time.

The artist, with their internal studio, is quite ready to paint with hot cocoa, because the whipped cream or marshmallow cream does look incredibly similar to snow.

It is a dilemma living in a creative imaginative world, and this outer one, where painting with marshmallow cream can be a pretty sticky wicket .

It is better to internalize the hot cocoa and fluff, than to paint in a snow delirious state of well-being.
