September 14
Many years ago we were taking a walk, a good long walk past trees, rock walls, and the occasional deer.
At one point, as we past this particularly large rock, I heard from my inner language, the rock say, "look at me. Let me tell you about color".
Color is. Color is not the reflection of light, it is simply the light it is being. A red apple isn't reflecting red light back at you, with all the other colors passing through it. It IS red.
This went a long way into an artist's idea of color, and it shook the scientific idea about it.
That was years and years ago. Never forgot it.
In the world before the rock, everything was simply a reflection. The apple was every color except red.
The leaves were every color except green. Everything was what it was not.
Now with quantum physics we know that solid is not what it seems.
You are not a reflection, your car is not every car except the one you have, the table you sit at is not every table except itself.
It took a deep dive to be willing to listen to nature that day. To believe it, took another.
When you get in the studio, you let go of what is supposed to be and should be, and make room for what could be if allowed a listening ear.
Hope your day finds you open to the imaginative nature that is part of who you are.

Thank you, Bill for the haiku.
Wonderful to be in conversation with creativity.
Hoping you'll stop by some Monday, give a call as a heads-up, to be sure we'll be here.
Coffee and tea. :-)
