Moving About

September 17

So good to get out and about, it revives the artist and the studio.
Think of a studio, writing studio, painting studio, dance studio, whatever kind you need, as a kindred spirit.

The spirit of the studio needs fresh air and sunlight, rain and wind, all sorts of atmosphere, and when you get that for yourself, then the studio gets it, too.

This goes for houses, too, you know. The house you're in has its own spirit, the spirit of itself, and it is conscious of your awareness of it.

Today, while we were out, we met a young woman who we had talked with before. She asked if we would like to visit her gathering she hosts twice a week. She wanted deeper conversation. I said, you mean you want to talk about more than the weather. She said, I want to talk about things you can't see. We'll be stopping in at that gathering soon.

When you look at a blank page, a blank canvas, a blank dance floor, you are faced with what you can't see. But you can feel it.

The light lights up, lights you up, and you go. You engage in the unseen dimension and bring it into the see-able realm for yourself and others. The work of our art is to make available the inner imaginable realm to the outer world.

As autumn edges ever closer, we feel the changes, the colors come up on the leaves of New England, as we are in such an element of natural beauty that we can't not paint.

Hope your day finds you feeling, and perhaps, seeing the invisible realm of the inner life bringing beauty and new visions to your world.

sometimes I think I trip over what I can't see b/c I think I am seeing it...love the blogs Robert..makes me think of how I relished the morning writings inspired by The Artist's Way, which is what sent me off to Lincoln Street Center in search of a studio, 2001!
