The art board panels are ready to receive their coat of black paint. They'll all be lined up across a ladder resting on two sawhorses, and, one by one, be painted.
It is a perfect day for it. 74 degrees and sunny, 70 degrees and sunny for tomorrow, so different from the last two years, when we had to keep an eye out on the darkening clouds and chance of rain growing.
Each show we create asks a lot, because we ask a lot of questions, and this show is the deepest dive we've taken.
We can feel it in our body, and we must be careful to surface back up slowly, so as not to get the bends. It is very much like being a diver under water, you must be aware of what you are doing.
The panels create the two inch border around the art, and actually become part of the artwork, as they will receive the colored marks, lines, shapes, and numbers that integrate the work to the atmosphere and environment they are to be in.
