August 29
You almost looked. You wanted to look, but remembered you were not to look.
How many times have we journeyed through life wishing we had taken the time to really see something beyond the supposed to and should haves.
Art is an opening into seeing beyond convention, the ground breaks open, the pulse rises, and you fall into the bliss of creativity.
Smell the air, smell the scent of the path, it looks different than you thought, but it is so much richer than first imagined.
The fecundity is loamy, and it reminds you of working in the garden, digging in the deep rich dirt, the smell unforgettable.
Once you've planted the seed, it will grow and become more than itself at first glance.
You must view art over and over again, feeling over and over again the pulse it gives you. That is its gift, your response is important to the life of the art you have lifted the lid to view.
Life brought you to a moment to listen and see. How can you know it otherwise? The gift is in hearing, in seeing.
In the studio we are open to the mystery of listening, we are willing to look and we are willing to see.
The willingness to look is why we can see and not judge. We are willing to listen, and we are willing to hear.
The willingness to listen is why we can hear and not judge.
Hope your day finds you strong enough to want to look, and willing enough to see.
