Lifted

It’s as though a mist were there
But rather it’s the fog
On the inside of the glass,
Droplets streaking down
Giving penetrating views.

We are entering beyond the veil
On and into the other side,
The unspoken place
The place that only children
Have an imagination for.

How brave you once were
Going where there were no clues,
No answers, just a place you came to.

What do you come to now,
How many places do you go
That you do not already know.

Safety is fine, but you are
Safer traveling your own rhythm
Than riding the wave of another’s boat.

Look up at the stars in that black
Night of a sky, put out your arms--
Now spin like a child till the stars
Are no longer fixed in the heavens
Rather, they are like comets tracing
Your path across your dreams.

The veil is open, the doorway clear,
The path cleared of obstructions,
You are free to enter and imagine
What it is like here on the other side
Of your wondering.
