Rockland — Paintings by Robert and Su.Sane Hake of Rockland and Warren, who work together under the name Clarity, will be exhibited at Rougette Gallery in a show opening during the First Friday Arts In Rockland Night AIR art walk Friday, July 2. The artists will be at a reception from 5 to 8 p.m.
For this couple, art is still as firmly wedded to human spirituality as it was for our tribal ancestors. It does not exist in some independent aesthetic realm, but is connected to who we are and what we are, both as individuals and as people. This year's show features colorful abstract and figurative paintings.
In addition to painting, the Hakes create assemblages, write poetry and prose, work in fiber arts and host a monthly art salon. Their show will run through July 23 upstairs at 340 Main St. Rougette Gallery is open Fridays from noon to 5 p.m. and other flexible hours by calling 596-7979 or visiting RougetteGallery.com.
