Mystery
digging deeper into the soil of this day, we unlayer
the rich loam of life.
we bring the compost of dark leaves and energetic worms
to the surface to see for ourselves the work being done.
we know it, feel it, and now we can see the expansiveness of
all that winter has been doing.
everywhere there are signs that the mystery of the unseen is
powerfully present and busy— busy beyond what we can always
know, feel, and understand, yet always ready to show us
what we can see by digging deeper.
today brings a sense of mystery and a sense of accomplishment,
both part of one another, both woven in the fabric of the air we breathe.
we take in the air of imagination, that ancient breath, that first breath
of wonder, and we exhale it outward to our companions, known and unkown,
seen and unseen.
the fairie folk laugh at our happiness, for the glimpses we see of what they see
each and every moment.
